Dog Breed Health Issues: Brittany Spaniel
Brittany Spaniel:
The Brittany Spaniel has been valued by hunters for years, who find it a manageable, good natured field dog, as well as a pleasant companion at home (In fact they are one of the most affectionate and playful of all dog breeds).
The breed is endowed with a remarkable sense of smell, and it has all the qualities of the finest bird dogs. Its tenacity and single minded approach to work have wrongly earned it a reputation for being stubborn, even pigheaded! In reality, however, the Brittany Spaniel is just the opposite.
Reliable and hard working, it can spend an entire day hunting in cold weather or in the rain without losing strength or spirit. If it must plunge into an icy pond after a fallen duck, it will - readily and boldy.
The Brittany can be prone to ear infections; check and clean the ears daily. Exercise and frequent walks are essential for the happiness of this breed.
Average Lifespan Of The Brittany Spaniel: 12-14 years.
Average Weight: 31-39lbs.
