Newfoundland Dog:

The Newfoundland Dog, an exceptionally gentle and docile animal, is also gifted with incredible strength, great intelligence, and superior swimming skills.  These qualities make it an excellent rescue dog.  The Newfoundland dog has webbed feet which enables it to paddle through water with ease.  It is thought that all European dogs with webbed feet contain some genes of the Newfoundland dog.  The Newfoundland is very robust and needs to run and swim at will.  It does not like the heat.  Brush its coat with a curry-comb, shampooing is not recommended.  A puppy's bone development should be monitored carefully.  They are one of the worst guard dogs.
