Dog Breed Health Issues: Rhodesian Ridgeback
Rhodesian Ridgeback:

The Rhodesian Ridgeback, despite its name, hails not from Zimbabwe but from South Africa, and is the only recognized breed to have originated there.  A handsome and muscular dog, the distinctive ridge on its back is unique to this breed: hair growing in the opposite direction to the rest of the coat creates a prominent crest along the center of the back.  In their native land, Ridgebacks are fearless hunters of lions and other big game.  They track their quarry in packs, instilling panic in the animal and driving it towards the hunter.

The good-natured and trainable Ridgeback is a fine pet for families who enjoy large dogs, in fact they are one of the top 10 best watchdogs.
